How to use a Progressed Chart
Pro-tip: Progressed charts are in my opinion the most overlooked astrological mechanism to navigate your life or use as a predictive tool. There’s a really simple way to use it that’ll show key timing if you have a general understanding on how to interpret aspects. Remember that astrology is a process in motion. I think that’s why people tend to underutilize progressed charts because they expect it to be like an updated natal chart but that’s not exactly what it’s intended to be. It’s more like the process in action and it actually (somehow) will usually give the same context as looking at transits to your natal chart; but it’s much easier to read without so many moving parts.
Look at your progressed chart (alone by itself) and specifically your progressed moon. The progressed moon will move 1° every 27 days. Think of it as your soul evolving as it rotates around the chart. So first thing is what sign and house it’s in. Second part, whenever your moon hits a tight orb aspect (within about 1°-2°) to any of your other planets, those will be prominent times when those planetary archetypal themes come up. The angle of the aspect gives context of how it’s activated (challenging, making adjustments, harmonious, etc). That’s the easiest way to get an overview of where you’re at/what’s coming up if you know the basics.
As far as the rest of the chart goes, your sun moves about 1° per year and everything else will move at a similar ratio to how they move in real time (so each year of your life progresses the chart about a day). The other planets aspecting each other gives deeper context and insight to more long term themes. The outer planets progress very slowly so about every 26-28 months, your moon will make a tight aspect to them. If you progress your chart back in time, look at when the moon aspected outer planets, and think about what was happening at the time, you can see how undeniably accurate the timing is.
To get more advanced with it, if you know which planets rule which signs, the next layer to add to it is recognizing when your moon aspects a planet, look at which house it’s ruling sign lands in. Usually whatever the theme of that house is will come up. For a vague example; if your moon is trining Venus, and Libra is your progressed 10th house, that’s usually a career upgrade of some kind. There’s always more nuance that goes into it than that of course when it comes to looking at the whole chart. But anyways, I just wanted to share this technique because I think there’s a lot of people who have the solid foundation of knowledge to use it but it gets overlooked a lot for some reason. I hope that made sense 😂🙏🏼✨

Love the progressed chart, but lacked this basic instruction! tu!!! in the e.g would we also look to the Taurus house aswell as libran house, for venus? Do you ever scramble your brain & look to transits in the sky impacting the progressed chart? or the progressed impacting natal? or synastry? … i’ve tried! lol!!! I think i once had transit saturn opposite moon in my natal then transit saturn opposed my progressed moon not long after! I’d need to revisit to properly see how it impacted life! but I think the natal one was more obvious - but sure their was some nuance.
Yes!!! I started diving into progressed my chart the beginning of this year. I discovered my NDE while crossing over the threshold of becoming ♊︎ ☉ 0° 49 & MC ♈︎ 0° 48 ☌ ♂ in opposition to to natal 🌙 y just minutes away brought all up into the Astro world 🥴 looking for answers and after 9 yrs I see it all in the progression. While also having my 🪐 return. I know exact time & day because I actually gave birth on Aug 4th & the 5th was my NDE a few hours later. I would highly recommend for someone to get a reading with progression and if you have dates exact it will bring so much clarity 🫶🏼.
